Educators concerned about disrespect
in schools can learn about new
August 5, 2011, MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Vistelar Group invites educators to a free seminar Aug. 18 to learn how to create a culture driven by respect and dignity, based upon a structured methodology in practice by police nationwide.
It will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, August 18 at the North Shore Radisson Milwaukee, 7065 N. Port Washington Road. Preregister at vistelar.com/thecure.
“Inappropriate and insulting words and behaviors are the gateway actions that cause situations to spiral out of control,” said nationally known police trainer Gary T. Klugiewicz. “Indignity and disrespect open the doors wide to bigger problems: harassment, bullying, verbal abuse and ultimately physical violence.”
The Milwaukee-based Vistelar has brought together a diverse group of professionals committed to promoting personal and organizational change. The group also includes Chuck Zamora, who has trained 90,000 students here and in Australia; Allen Oelschlaeger, business entrepreneur and faculty member at the UW-Whitewater; Chan Lee, who operates five martial arts schools in the area; Kathy Mangold, former editor of metroparent magazine; and Kati Tillema, a legal advocate who has worked extensively with low-income families.
