Librarian: “Program teaches confidence”

“… The information Master Lee gave was very important. It’s important for children to hear about bullying, to hear that they don’t need to be bullied, that they should go to their parent or trusted adult if they are being bullied.

“He gave very good ideas for what to do if someone calls you a name. You don’t get aggressive. You try to diffuse the situation by being funny or by looking confident, and showing that it doesn’t bother you.

“I like the mix that it’s interactive, and that the emphasis on not reacting violently. Even if you know judo or tae kwon do, you don’t use it.

“It gives you confidence, you can walk away. You can say something funny, or say something like, “I don’t want to get you into trouble, so please back off.” and then you walk away.”
